Saying Goodbye: A Farewell Party
用英語說再見：道格的歡送會
Part A
Today is Doug’s last day at work. His coworkers are preparing a goodbye brunch for him.
今天是道格最後一天上班。他的同事們正在為他準備道別早午餐。
Helen: Are we all set for Doug’s goodbye brunch?
Joseph: Yes. All of his favorite food is here. We have pizza, dumplings, and cake.
Helen: OK. After we finish the brunch, I’ll give a speech.
Joseph: What will you say?
Helen: I won’t be too formal. I’ll say “I wish you luck,” and “We’ll all miss you.”
Joseph: Be sure to say that the office won’t be the same when he’s gone.
Helen: Oh! We should also pass this card around the office.
Joseph: I’ll have everyone write something on it. You can practice your speech.
海倫：道格的歡送餐會都準備好了嗎？
喬瑟夫：好了， 所有他最愛吃的食物都在這裡， 我們有披薩、水餃和蛋糕。
海倫：好，吃完早午餐後，我要說一段話。
喬瑟夫：妳會說什麼？
海倫：我不會太正式， 我會說 「祝你好運」 和「我們都會想你的」。
喬瑟夫：務必要說他離開以後， 辦公室就會變得和以前不同了。
海倫：喔！我們也應該把這張卡片在辦公室裡傳一下。
喬瑟夫：我會讓大家在上面留言， 妳可以練習致詞。
Part B
Helen is practicing her speech by herself.
海倫自己在練習致詞。
Helen: Doug, we always liked you. You meant a lot to us. You were always talkative and friendly.
Joseph: Everyone’s coming, but I just realized we made a mistake.
Helen: We’ve done everything. We sent out invitations. We even put balloons on the ceiling.
Joseph: Yes, but we forgot to invite Doug!
Helen: Oh no! I feel like a fool. I hope I’ll get to say happy trails to him.
Joseph: You keep practicing your speech. I’ll find Doug.
Helen: OK. Doug, take care of yourself, and… and… Joseph, I’m counting on you. Go find Doug!
Joseph: No sweat.
海倫：道格，我們一直都很喜歡你，你對我們而言很重要，你總是那麼健談又友善。
喬瑟夫：大家都來了，可是我剛發現我們犯了一個錯。
海倫：我們所有事都做好啦。我們寄出邀請函，甚至還在天花板上放了些氣球。
喬瑟夫：對，可是我們忘記邀請道格了！
海倫：喔，不！我覺得自己像個蠢蛋。希望我還有機會祝他旅途愉快。
喬瑟夫：妳繼續練習要說的話，我去找道格。
海倫：好。道格，你要保重，還有……還有……喬瑟夫，我全靠你了，去找道格吧！
喬瑟夫：沒問題。
