Bregenz Festival: Music on the Water
布雷根茨音樂節──湖畔的藝術驚奇

Imagine an idyllic setting along the shore of a quiet lake where the sounds of the world’s finest classical music, and opera fill the air. It’s not a fantasy, but a real gathering in Bregenz, Austria, which plays host to the Bregenz Festival each year.
The festival’s history goes back to 1946 when the town of Bregenz, just one year removed from World War II, was determined to stage a one-of-a-kind performance. There was just one problem—there was no theater in Bregenz. Undeterred, the festival organizers decided to use nearby Lake Constance as the setting, putting a stage and an orchestra upon two barges on the water. Visitors from all across Europe came to hear the Vienna Symphony Orchestra play Mozart’s Bastien et Bastienne. While watching the performance by the water’s edge, the audience took in the beauty of both the natural surroundings and the music itself.
Today, the Bregenz Festival features about 100 separate performances every year. It draws guests that number in the hundreds of thousands. On top of each visitor’s must-do list is to see a show at the Seeb?hne, a permanent stage built over Lake Constance that changes every two years, depending on what opera is being performed. You might recognize this stage from the 2008 James Bond film, Quantum of Solace.
想像在寧靜的湖畔、一個質樸宜人的地方，世界最美的古典音樂與歌劇的樂音就在空中盪漾。這不是幻想，而是位於奧地利布雷根茨的一場真實聚會，這裡每年都會主辦「布雷根茨音樂節」。

如今，布雷根茨音樂節每年會有約一百場不同的表演。它吸引了數十萬的遊客。每位觀光客必遊清單上的首選就是去看「湖上舞台」的表演，這是一座建在康士坦斯湖上的永久舞台，每兩年都會視上演哪齣歌劇來改變一次舞台設計。你可能會從二○○八年的詹姆士．龐德電影《量子危機》中認出這座舞台。
